Loan settled and still debting my account

I have paid up my loans and the debit order went off. The consultant advised me to stop it with my bank. But why should my bank stop the debit order when they can refund it to me. It's a total inconvenience to me to go to my branch and stop the debit order, installment could be refunded back to me
I want this resolved ASAP as this is considered as.
