What happened... House was flooded due to a burst pipe
Our first and this will probably be out LAST CLAIM with outsurance. (policy will probably be stopped in the next few days)
A very piece-meal approach with regards to sorting out thew claim. THEY CLAIM TO RESTORE, BUT WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING TO DO IS JUST CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR INCIDENT
Items to be noted from this ordeal:
1. Reluctance to confirm anything in writing unless told to do so.
2. Certain of there service providers who are appointed to undertake the repair work are not very proactive (bad attitudes, not willing to go out of there way for the customer)
3. Not willing to take the proactive approach towards the customer in having a full understanding of the incident (certain items where just ignored, not considered to be part of the claim)
4. Assessors with no technical competence, who just come out to take pictures...(not on the day of the incident, a day after)
5. Insurance cover for R500, 000.00... But yet fight about petty issues.
To name but a few things i had to go through... BEND OVER BACKWARDS (FOR A CUSTOMER THAT HAS 3 INSURANCE COVERS WITH THEM... I THINK NOT)
