I had a new roof installed over my braai area 18 months ago. Due to severe recent rains and wind, there was a leak in the braai area which resulted in the rain water coming and causing the ceiling to swell. I have been through the entire winter and that area never leaked, surely as a result of the heavy rain and wind, it could have caused these sheets to move and hence the cement becoming cracked. Standard Bank's response to this claim was that it was wear and tear. Do they only rely on one contractors opinion. At no time was I consulted to ascertain details about the roof. Are the going to come up with a wear and tear excuse for every claim, they are quick to take your money and yet even slower to pay out if they need to.
I have to lodge a claim for water damage in my passge, is this also going to be clasified as wear and tear. Honestly they are the worst
