We have had my daughters student loan with standard bank for the last 2 years as well as all our personal & business banking for - 25 yrs - this her 3rd year @ varsity. Her reapplication for a student loan was declined. When we went into the branch we were told to contact the student loan call centre which we did. My husband signed surety and because he has his own business & clients dont always pay as promised the debit orders were returned 1 - 2 but were always pd up within the same week. My husband explained this to her & they werent even prepared to offer a solution. The attitude was change all ur debit orders & get someone else to sign surety. Surely to goodness this could be handed over to a higher authority for further appraisal instead of leaving us now high & dry with no frigging clue how to go further & varsity is due to start mid feb. Surely they have 25 freaken yrs history neva was a payment NOT made at all. I am highly disgusted with this service.
