We had showering rain during the month of January which resulted in damage to our house. A week of non-stop rain resulted in a roof leak and caused damage in the main-bedroom's ceiling and wooden flooring. My wife reported the damage to Discovery Insure shortly after. An Assesor was appointed by Discovery Insure. The Assesor only came to inspect the damage after a period of three weeks and numerous follow-up calls by my wife. The Assesor wrote a report back to the Insurer stating that it is damage which occured over a period of time. Discovery therefor rejected our claim. We bought the house in May 2012, and took photos of the interior for a family member from New Zealand in November 2012. These photos indicate clearly that there were no damage to the ceiling. The rejection of the claim was unacceptable to us!! My wife managed to get hold of a second Assesor who also visited the house to inspect the damage. This Assesor indicated to my wife in our house that he disagrees with the previous report, and that he believes that it was not long-term damage. Discovery Insured still declined our claim even after we got a second Assesor. I am very dissapointed with the insurer!!!
