Dec. 2012 had a lightning strike that caused extensive damaged to my security system, as I had two unsuccessful night time burglaries, I therefor replaced damaged goods IMMEDIATELY, after reporting it to ABSA home insurance, cost R60000.00. A settlement was offered for half of that amount witch I declined, After numerous attempt of reasoning I then referred the matter to my attorney. After numerous letters to ABSA by attorney (IGNORED) we then decided that the case could only be resolved in court.
Incidentally my electronic goods not covered by ABSA was promptly replaced without any problem.
As I am a "PRIVATE BANKING" platinum account holder of ABSA I am also seriously considering to changing banks after 30 years of being with ABSA, and also that of my employees as we only use Internet banking for salaries & and; weekly wages.
