Making defaults without notifying properly

I have been banking with Nedbank for 23 years. I closed one of my 3 accounts earlier this year, because I didn't have use for it after cancelling a policy (the only debit order that goes through this account). After applying for a home-loan I get feedback this morning that Nedbank put a default against me. Shocked I called Nedbank immediately. After speaking to Refanoe Maponyane, explaining that I did not receive any notification regarding this matter, she could only tell me: "Sorry, the default will stay for 2 yrs against you." I was at Nedbank at The Square, Rustenburg yesterday to obtain a statement on the account in question and was told nothing about monies owed or defaults against me re this account. I was also told at that branch that my address (after doing the whole FICA-thing) still showed as a property I sold 10 years ago!! WOW Nedbank, thank you for treating an old client in such a disgusting way. I will move my business account immediately to FNB. I am utterly disgusted in you and will be telling all my clients, friends and family to stay away from you!
