This is not a specific incident, but something that has been going on for years. The ABSA branch in Strand st. Bellville have been nothing but an irritation and an inconvenience since they opened their doors.
Here are the grievances of the residents whose road they have hijacked, whose property they have devalued, and whose area they help to degrade. None have been answered.
1. They claim no responsibility for the behaviour of their clients when they block our road instead of using their parking area, use loud disgusting language, urinate in public, and play super-loud bass-driven music so that our windows vibrate. This happens in our street.
2. They refuse to close the entrance to their huge parking area after business hrs, knowing full well that it is used only as a drive-through for drug dealing and prostitution, and for public fornication.
3. They refuse to close their ATM at night, also knowing full well that the only reason anyone needs cash there at night is for drugs and prostitution.
When contacted about the ATM the manageress replied that they would not consider curtailing their "profit making" ATM hrs.
