Broke down on the N2 near Somerset West on 1st January early evening. Contacted Discovery Insure to get assistance and was directed to emergency road side assist. No reply. Called 6/7 times. Voice message "Please hold case managers currently busy...". No reply. Was being harassed by so called "good samaritans" offering assistance. One of the Samaritans tried breaking into my driver window with a brick / rock. Managed to start vehicle and reversed to nearby Engen One Stop for safety. Vehicle subsequently towed away on 2nd January and on enquiry was told Insure was not open on 1st January. Not sure why I was kept on hold whilst waiting for emergency assist.
Subsequently was requested to complete service survey by Francois Theron (Chief Operating Officer - Discovery Holdings). Reason for survey no doubt computer generated "... Discovery Insure is passionate about delivering exceptional service, and we rely on feedback from our clients to tell us how we're doing...". I have had no response to my email. On further enquiry to locate contact details for COO was unable to establish either a contact number or email address.
So much for passion and exceptional service!
