WORST BANK EVER!!!
I am currently overseas and my Standard Bank debit card went missing. I phoned to cancel the card thinking that at least I would have internet banking to access my money. However, the bank cancelled my internet banking as well. So I'm now stranded in a foreign country with no access to my money.
After many international calls and emails I finally got them to allow my mother to collect my new card so I can reactivate my internet banking. However, they wouldn't give her the pin, which is required to activate internet banking. I cannot get it over the phone as the want to send me a OTP to my South African number which no longer works. After another 30 minutes on the phone being transferred between multiple departments I was told that the PIN could be mailed to me, only to then be told that that is not a possibility.
This is the second time in a month that Standard Bank has cut me off from my money. I notified them that I was going overseas before I left and right after I made my first international transaction they blocked my card.
What other option do I have???
I have been banking with them for 15 years. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!
