I am experiencing in increased frustration with continued changing of claims requirements in respect of my hospital insurance, i have emailed copy of hospital account plus my ID document, only to now being informed that I have to submit a motivation letter from my husband's attending Physician as to why he had to be treated for more than 5 days... REALLY!!! In addition to this a discharge letter from the hosoital is required, stating date of admission, date of discharge as well as diagnosis. This is a duplication of information contained in the hospital account!! To obtain the motivation letter from the physician means that I will have to pay R980 for said letter. Is this insurance not supposed to relieve loss of income due to hospitalization?? On a previous occasion I was informed that the claim will only be paid once my debit order has cleared. I have never defaulted on payment of debit order since the inception of the policy in 2007!! Furthermore, I have yet to be allowed to speak to a senior manager at AIG!! Really, is this company bankrupt... or what is going on?? Terrible, terrible customer service!!!
