S.A Multiloan (Now Bridge Loans) handed me over to Coombe & Associates (Now Flemix & Associates) - for defaulting on a loan from 2012. The loan amount was R6, 500.00, to be paid with interest of 60%. At the time I signed the payment agreement, the amount owed was R11, 903.36 (excluding legal fees, which I was incorrectly told would be advised upon finalising the agreement). Legal fees were never advised and I never received any form of correspondence until I requested a statement and settlement letter - on 26/06/2013. I received the statement (showing an alarming balance of R13, 127.41) the same day, but no settlement letter... until today 16/07/2013 (after numerous follow up requests). The settlement letter shows an amount of R13, 949.15. I have now paid a total of R10, 351.33 via monthly debit orders. None of the people I've spoken to at Flemix & Associates have offered me a satisfactory explanation for the amounts on the statement and settlement letter. They are also unable/unwilling to refer me to someone who may shed some light on the issue. I would appreciate some urgent feedback, from someone in the know.
