Repeated calls and voice messages from Std Bank

I took over a corporate telephone number from a colleague who left the company a few years ago. Over the last few months, I have been receiving these incessant telephone calls from various 011 981 XX00 numbers. If answered, there is nothing/no-one on the line. If you leave the call to go to voice mail, a message is left to contact a specified number regarding an "overdue credit card account", but with no bank name. Eventually I traced it back to Standard Bank after reading similar complaints on this site. I do NOT bank with Standard Bank. I phoned their customer service desk and after about 3 weeks of follow up and explanations of how the account is not mine and possibly my colleague's, they promised to update their system and stop harassing me. They did... for about two weeks. Now it has started all over again - 4 calls a day. I have now decided to have my phone number changed (a huge inconvenience to me), seeing as Standard Bank appears unable to rectify this situation. To Std Bank I would like to mention that I am in the process of applying for a home loan and have made sure to avoid Standard Bank as a candidate. If this is how they treat their customers, I'd rather NOT be one.
