Pathetic turn around time

I had an accident and logged a claim on the 15th of May 2013, I filled in all the required documentation, sent through all requested docs, including the accident report, case number and whatever else was required. I called them -a week later to be advised that they are just awaiting to confirm my insurance history before the proceed. I then received a sms on the 3rd of June to advise who will be handling my claim, it is today the 13th of June and had no response, I today called the call centre to check on the status of my claim and was advised that the claims handler still need to confirm my drivers license, ITC and the SAPS. So, why ask for a copy of my license if you still need to verify it? How long does it take for all these things to be done, it has been almost a month and still no progress. To me it seems as though this is the stage for delay tactics so they can take as long as they can before they pay, if they were on the opposite end, how would they feel??? I also had the full premium deducted off my account on my debit day, how can you take a premium for a vehicle that has been written off and has a claim outstanding against it.
