Where is the support

I am very disappointed in the Legal System and Standerdbank. Seems like if you want to clear your name of debt, you are fighting a loosing battle when it suits the creditors.

Myself and my ex-husband opened a Home Loan before we where married. We signed the loan as Sowerby & Raath. After some difficult times we lost the flat we bought through Standerdbank. The bank resold the property and the outstanding amount was payable by both parties through attorneys. At that stage the lady at the attorneys said if I pay every month my half, she will clear my name and keep my ex-husband responsible for the balance.

I have started paying back every month from 2006 up until 2013. Whereas my ex-husband never paid. This account has now been handed over to new attorneys and the bank gave them a new combined amount that is payable. The amount is split in two, my half and my ex-husband's half.

So the amount I paid over the years does not come into consideration. I now have to pay another couple of years until this account is up to date. And the best of it all, if he does not pay his share, they say I'm accountable for his amount also.
