My daughter died on the 18th of January 2013. I duly advised 1Life of her death. The telephone call was handled with great empathy and very efficiently. I received several phone calls from Kenneth reminding me to complete the claim forms. To date I have still not done it but I did feel the need to share the manner that I have been treated in my grief. It is through no fault of his.
The death of a child is extremely traumatic and the handling of the estate is a horrible, horrible duty that no parent should ever be subjected too.
My daughter had policies with two different insurance companies. In a feedback that I provided to a large (possibly the largest) about the way that death claim was handled, I said that I would hate my family to deal with them when I die. The Sanlam claim procedure is easier but their staff is certainly not in the same league as 1Life's Kenneth Mkhize.
Thank you Kenneth! You cannot take the pain and trauma of my daughter's death away but you treated me and my grief with respect.
