Standard Bank
Inflexibility

Called to have my son's savings account changed to a cheque account, as he has now turned 21 and needs to start building a credit record. He currently holds 2 savings accounts and an investment account. However according to the consultant he needs to provided a confirmed income of R8000 pm. They are not intrested that he is a property owner, been a tax payer since the age of 9. Has also been a rates and tax payer since the age of 9. He gets a income from the property, currently still being paid into our (the parents) C/A. We wanted to get his C/A up and running before advising the tennants to change the bank account into which the funds needs to be transfered. He has debit orders being deducted from his PP i.e RA/investment/insurance/medical aid ect. He is also a member of a cc which we started last year. None of these factors are important, only that he needs a income of R8000.00. I find this very short sighted. It would not be a problem to get him a income confirmation from the cc of R8000. However should the bank not look a little further than merely income.
