New contract FAILED to use my existing numbe

About a month ago I did an application for a new contract at Cell C through Cell C Direct.
I was asked if:
1. I want to use my EXISTING Cell C prepaid number for the contract
2. Receive a NEW number.

I chose to use my EXISTING NUMBER!

After about a months wait they deliver the phone with the new simcard and what do you know, the wonderful staff didn't do their job and a received a NEW number?!?!?!?!

After putting in the SIM and getting an sms saying I have a new number, I IMMEDIATELY call Cell C and ask them to sort this out.
I got the reference number for the call.
They said I WILL be updated within 24 hours.

Obviously not.

Today I phone again, ask them about my issue, give them the reference number and the women tells me there are NO OPEN CASES on any of my two Cell C numbers nor that reference number!

WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE DOING AT CELL C??
Having a party and ignoring people's request??
I will not pay a single cent on this contract until this is fixed! THIS is NOT what I applied for!!!

I have ONE phone and now I can't even do banking because all the OTPs are being sent to the number that's not in use. I can't use it in my new phone because it's not a nano SIM!
