I bought a Tom Tom GPS during 2011 from Hi-Fi Corporation.

I was convicned by their salesman to take out their extended warranty as, in his words, I then wont have to wait for the GPS to be repaired if it gets faulty, they will just swop or credit me! I use my GPS (it has got the live traffic update which is very useful) on a daily basis, travelling from the Northern Suburbs to Cape Town, and as a result of the live traffic function, I can avoid the traffic jams and be on time for my appointments.

My GPS is now faulty, the live traffic function does not work due to the GPS not charging.

I was today informed by the Manager at Tygervalley that they are NOT going to swop the GPS, they will first send it to be assesed, then they will deiced wether they are going to repair or swop it. This, I was told, might take up to 21 working days!!!

The extended warranty agreement spescifically states that:

Hi-fi Corporation may in its sole discretion repair, modify or credit any appliance... It does not say it will first be send away which may take 21 days.

I was misled when I paid for an extended warranty!
