I purchased a new Defy Fridge from Game in 2012 for R5, 000. The fridge leaked, doors did not close or work correctly. I called Defy who sent out an agent "WellKnow Ntumzi" to inspect the fridge. He did some adjustments and informed me the fridge had RUST, a "Manufacturing default" and he would replace panel.
I contacted Defy customer service; explained my problem; asked for the manager Ralf Macdonald or Brian Rivert, I was told both not available to take my calls; I spoke to Roger the workshop controller, who said Mr Rivert was aware of problem and ask me to "hold on while he spoke to Mr Rivert"; on returning informed me the Manager said "they could do nothing further but replace panel and I should take the matter up with Game".
I purchased a DEFY fridge because I believed DEFY stood for reliability and good aftersales and customer service; apparently I WAS MISTAKEN, passing the buck is the order of the day. I spent R5000 which I saved over several years to buy my fridge; all I can now expect is RUST issues and endless problems.
To the people at DEFY, I do not want a fridge with RUST or MANUFACTURING FAULTS; I want a NEW FRIDGE that's what I paid for. Disappointed Customer.
