Over the past 10 years (yes, it's been THAT long since Highveld was last an enjoyable station), listening to Highveld has been a total bore and somewhat frustrating.
The main source of my frustration stems from the morning show, which had become stale under Mansfield and predictable under Simpson.
Allowing Bongani to leave the station is a wonderful step in the right direction. His fake laughs at everything that Darren says and the clear point that he is an over rated singer all contributed to the fact the he was a massive detractor from the success of the morning show.
Allowing him to move to Radio 2000 was a good move. He clearly was never going to be able to host his own show on Highveld, and his mediocre singing will never land him a record contract of any substance.
Let's get rid of our culture of mediocrity in our entertainment sphere; and Bongani was a good place to start.
