Flight Discounts Dont Apply!

I am trying to book a flight on Emirates with my Vitality Discount. I would pay R5600 by going directly through Emirates, though through the Vitality site, the same flight, WITH discount would cost R6144. Why would I pay more thorugh Vitality even with my discount!!! Something is not right with this rewards programme!
