After having a back operation I was sent from high care to Ward D for 3 days before I was discharged. Several things are disturbing about the care given to patients. For a private hospital there is no air conditioning or fans provided but we were told we can bring 1 in if we want when asked if they had. The room reached 40 degrees on one of the days which is shocking. I was scheduled for back massages to ease muscle pain but had to beg & beg for them. To be funny they came at 2am after giving me sleeping tablets each night then woke me again at 4am for a sponge bath. Great rest. Luckily I noticed my drip had run out twice & notified the. It took at least 3 hours for it to be replaced the second time & for my dressing to be changed after it leaked. My neighbour's drip was left open for 8 hours before replaced. Also, it took 3 hours for the distribution of my pain meds which changed tablets & schedules each day, nurses didn't know what they were. The emergency button didn't work & I was told to share, great when you can't move. Catheter overflowed. Was cared for by over 20 nurses in 3 days so no one knew what was happening the tv had no sound. Hospital's care is not private or public.
