Discovery Health
Dental treatment to pensioner payment denied

While on a visit to family in Italy, and being covered by his medical aid, as per documentation on hand, Mr Nicolli was forced to see a dentist when one of his teeth - that held the dental plate in his mouth, broke off. He tried to convince the dentist to "glue" the tooth back on - temporarily, as the return date to South Africa was the 17th October. THe dentist said that would be impossible and that a full extraction of the bottom part of the tooth, namely, the root had to be done. Then they would lengthen the plate to attach itself to the last tooth. AS HE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO EAT WITHOUT THE PLATE, Mr Nicolli agreed. The extraction was done - SEVEN stitches were given - this for general information and to make you aware of the kind of dental service given.
Infection was only noticed about the 10th day after the above for which Mr NIcolli then had to seek Medical Help!
The infection then travelled to his lungs - this being another episode.

The claim for Dental treatment is being disallowed as a "receipt" cannot be produced. On the quote given, it clearly states that unless the total amount is paid in full, no treatment or parts will be supplied.

Help please!
