During August I received documents from Medihelp asking to submit my proof of income documents for my medical aid. As I am a pensioner, I submitted the documents that I received from Dept of Government Pensions Administration Agency once a year. Every second week since August 2013 I receive SMS's to state that my proof of income Medihelp received are not acceptable. Everytime I answered them that what I handed in was all that I have. Medihelp refuse to accept Government documents as proof. On 14/01/2014 I received a email from Medihelp stated that they did not received acceptable proof of income and therefore my monthly subscription were adjusted according to the next higher income category from R1848 to R2628. I cannot understand why Medihelp refuse to accept a Goverment document as proof where as any financial instition would accept it. As it is I am batteling to cope with paying all my things. I am very unsatisfied with the way Medihelp is treating my proof of income and the subsiquintly increase of my subscription for medical benefits.
