Sept 2011 I bought a Chev Cruze from McCarthy GM Villeria. I asked if the vehicle was in an accident, and the sales manager, Hansie Calitz, assured me the vehicle was never in an accident. I usually contact the previous owner as per the service record booklet to enquire about accidents, but conveniently the service book "got lost". Hansie gave a new book and signed next to each of the previous services
Mechanically the vehicle is in good condition and never gave me any problems, but now that I want to sell the vehicle, the problems started. The first dealer I took the car to told me that this car was in an accident and they will not touch the car. In the meantime the McCarthy GM Villeria branch moved to Hatfield and the sales manager resigned.
We contacted the new manager at McCarthy GM Hatfield, Conrad Rogers, he and personnel had a look at the car and they confirmed that there was an accident based on the rear left door that does not properly align. We have requested info about previous owner but so far they have refused. The owner stated they will not take the car back or help in any way.
They have sold us a car without disclosing serious damage and now the car is unsellable
