In April this year I insured my car with Miway insurance. An excess of R1100 was agreed upon by the consultant helping me and also he promised that this would not increase, only after a 1 year. I received an email from Miway, saying that due to rand dollar exchange and due to other clients claiming on their insurance covers, that they will have to increase all clients excess, utter garbage. Why should other clients claims affect my premiums and excess. They increased mine to R3300.That is a 200% increase. How can you justify such a huge increase. I phoned the call centre and the lady told me 'Why must it concern you, you have never claimed before'.She was rude and back answered me the whole time. A senior consultant was promised to call me and yet still I wait for the call. This is a breach of contract and not the way you do business. I will be taking the matter up in accordance with consumer control act
