I applied for insurance and was helped by a friendly lady, Rebecca Soga. She forwarded me a confirmation. A lady, Yvette Schutte phoned Mr Bosman and "confirmed" the details with him as the car is in his name. She did not explain to him that the policy details changed due to incorrect details captured by Rebecca. She misled him by asking him if he agrees with the policy and the premium. He was unaware of the premium as I arranged the insurance and I got the email confirmation. I feel that Yvette was dishonest in her dealings with Mr Bosman and that it is unethical practise not the state that the premium differs due to changes made. I only learned of the change when someone phoned to offer me the value added products requested. When Yvette phoned me, she did not apologised but blamed Rebecca and said that I need to take this up with Rebecca's supervisor. If Yvette explained to him that the policy will change due to xyz reasons, this would have been acceptable. This goes against the consumer act. "Consumer education: Consumers have the right to education that will empower them to make informed choices" Up to date, I have not received a new policy schedule...
