On 15 November 2012 my vehicle was involved in an accident.
- On submitting my 3rd party claim to the insurer of the owner of the vehicle responsible for the accident, the insurer insisted on a certified copy of my vehicle's registration certificate.
- On telephonic request to ABSA for the return of my vehicle's Registration Certificate, I was informed that since the finance arrangement (dd. April 2003) on the vehicle had expired more than 5yrs ago, such document was archived and needs to requested from their archiving center, under formal written request (letter)
- On 13 February 2013, this formal written request was submitted to the email address [Email Removed] as quoted by the representative of ABSA call centre.
- No response was forthcoming ever since.
- On tying to obtain a duplicate Registration Certificate from the local Traffic Authority, I was informed that the Traffic Authority can not issue me such duplicate, since ABSA is still registered as Title Holder and such document can only be furnished to ABSA on the latter's request.
- My claim against the insurer is now about to subscribe and I'm still waiting on ABSA's response ... (!!!)
