I first got a letter on Friday from the sheriff stating that my furniture would be attached if I did not contact the sheriff. I of course contacted them first thing and they advised me that I have a final demand on an outstanding debt held by Blakes Maphanga Attorneys. They gave me the reference number and the contact details and said they would be out Monday night to do an evaluation on my assets.
I then tried calling Blakes Maphanga Attorneys 5 times on Monday only to get through to somebody on the 5th attempt. I asked them what account this was and what the balance was, they told me it was Nedbank and that they would have to request the balance as they don't have it.
The sheriff showed up that evening and said the first summons went to an address in a city I have never heard of never mind lived. I then phoned again on Tuesday to chase up on the balance which was finally mailed to me.
I then called today 4 times to get hold of someone to ask to make a payment arrangement. They told me that they cant give me a settlement amount or a set amount to pay, I should just pay R5000 a month for 6 months and that should be enough.
All of this is purely ludicrous.
