Booking directly with Greyhound

I suffer from claustrophobia and due to unforeseen circumstances had to urgently travel from Centurion to Durban via coach. Being unable to control panic attacks I called Greyhound directly to book a seat on a single decker coach. I was advised that all coaches for Durban were double decker coaches. Explaining my problem to the lady she booked me into seat number 3C, downstairs, in order to accommodate my fears. What she did not explain, after I had said I need to sit directly behind the driver as the large windows help conquer panic attacks, was that seat 3C was one seat in front of the back seats! The Afrikaans lady who assisted me in Pretoria was awesome but the hostesses on the coaches obviously do not understand or care about claustrophobia sufferers. Many people suffer from this and they can be accommodated if staff have the correct training. I was not the only person on this trip that had this problem. Eventually, 20 minutes after the coach was supposed to have left they allocated me a seat on the single coach directly behind the driver and I had a great trip other than leaving late and being stuck in Montrose for an hour waiting for the relief driver. 07:15 29 June
