Vodacom
Can't replace R150 to expired SIM

Up to and including 2011, I had a pre-paid Vodacom SIM that was used in a 3G dongle. This number (0822583328) was linked to my internet banking for ease of recharge. The last time I used this number was in June 2011 after which I switched Service Providers. Two Saturdays ago, I intended on loading R150 airtime to my current, new SIM / no used for data, but mistakenly selected the old prepaid beneficiary (0822583328) instead of my new number. Vodacom indicated that I must bear that loss because the number has been re-allocated since it hasn't been used for so long and that person has used up all the airtime. I didn't even want a refund, just for R150 to be recharged to my wife's number who is on prepaid. I was told they weren't even willing to consider my request and when I got aggravated the supervisor at the call centre put the phone down on me. R150 - come on, how much would it cost a multi-million company for the sake of keeping a customer happy. Any people considering Vodacom would do better to look elsewhere for better customer service. Sorely disappointed.
