Bad service - Wetherleys mistake

In December I ordered a coffee table and head board from wetherleys Somerset Mall and paid my deposit.
In beginning of January the goods arrived and I went to collect it. According to my invoice I had to pay in R2250 after my deposit. On collection Michelle said I only have to pay in R1250. I asked her why, no that is the amount I have to pay she said. I said are you sure, yes. Why would I keep on arguing with the sales person? (Note that they also had a 50% sale over that weekend). On payment of the R1250. my stock was released. 5 weeks later, Michelle phones me - stating that I still owe them R1000 and must come and pay it immideately. I indicated that I have spend the money, and if I have to pay, I will pay it in March. But I stated it was their mistake and I want to know why, she said she will talk her manager and get back to me. She never phoned me again. Today I get a call from her about payment not made and threatens me with lawyers letter. If I owe the money, I will pay it BUT up to date I haven't received any proof from them of the R1000 owing or a reason why the mistake was made. That is very poor service!
