This shop has adopted the very Third World way of selling raw meat by putting it on ordinary wooden tables at room temperature (no refrigerator whatsoever). This is mostly over weekends. Yesterday it was raw chicken. It was a rather hot day. It is my understanding that raw meat should be sold from a refrigerator and up to now (and at all other stores I know) this seems to be the case.
Clearly this store has not got enough refrigerators. I have no doubt that unsold chicken lying the whole day in the open like this is put back in the refrigerator (whenever) and sold to unsuspecting customers later on. I blindly refuse to buy meat of any description from this store. I dont like my bathroom that much! At least their bread is nice.
Why not just sell the chicken from the pavement? After all, profit is so much more important than the health of your customers!
