A COOLPIX 2600 Nikon camera was bought in December as a present, the camera battery was charged fully after taking 5 photos the lens would not retract, battery low.. recharged and tried again, no response. Put the camera into its box and returnend it to the supplier.(2 week replacement policy expired) sent in for repairs, 3 and a half weeks later (refund after 3 weeks company policy) I went to enquire, damage due to physical abuse, repair cost the same as the purchase price of the camera... on the counter a quote for a camera repair the same make, damage due to physical abuse... repair cost more than the price of the camera??? are we buying cheap bulk imported goods? and told if something goes wrong sorry... your problem.
