I purchased Egyptian cotton bed linen from Continental linen over the weekend, expecting good qualtiy linen and to my disgust reliased that what I had bought compared to hospital linen bought in the 1900's. The linen is hard and heavy and definately does not have the characteristics one would expect from Egyptian cotton linen. The linen is not soft and luxurious but hard, heavy and uncomfortable and with it being so heavy, its not the most ideal prodcut to use with the high temperatures in SA. Continental linen promises the best quality products at an optimal price but do they rather sell products which do not live up to the standards and expectations created by them. I compared their product to Eqyption cotton linen bought from another retailer and was it more expensive but is the quality, well worth the price tag. I have bought cheaper linen that was of a much better quality. I challenge Continental linen to comppare the product I bought from them, to the quality of Eqyption cotton linen I bought from another retailer and if they do not accept the fact that their product is of bad quality, then they do not have their clients best interests at heart.
