My 10 year old son recently came home very excited telling me that he saw the magnetic cricket game that he has been looking for forever, at our local Checkers. He proceeded to tell me that if he buys THAT game he can win a special addition Kookaburra bat signed by non other than AB De Villiers!
He had saved most his pocket money, but still needed a little extra, he started doing extra chores around the house to earn the rest.
He had a rough day yesterday and after being very brave and having a medical procedure done, I decided to go get the game for him as reward for his bravery.
Needless to say he was very excited when he took the game out of my boot. The first thing he did was look for the entry form, so that we can fill it in and get him into the draw for this wonderful prize!
It was only when he handed his completed entry form to me that I noticed that the competition closing date is: 31/12/2008!
You can not begin to imagine his disappointment when I had to explain to him that there is no more competition. He wanted to know how it can be over if he only JUST got his game?
Now I can't help but wonder if I was at least charged the 2008 price for the game?
