We live in Durban, and had just moved into our own place after our wedding. My parents live in JHB and went to UFO after seeing an ad in the paper that they had a massive sale. They found the "perfect" set for R23 000 and that was the price after their discount of up to 50%. The sales assistant talked them into a leather protector of R640, stating that you don't spend so much on a leather couch and then don't protect it. They brought the set down and we couldn't be happier. We have dogs that live in the house, so they scratched a small piece of the couch, after closer inspection i saw that this happened because the seating was not leather, but plastic. So i made a cover to fit over the set to protect it from the dogs, expecting that just the seating area wasn't leather because they did not specify where it would be leather. After taking the covers off to wash them i saw that the back and headrest was scuffed, the whole set was plastic. We found the receipt and phoned them to complain about their misrepresentation. They said that they never said it was leather, but why then sell a leather protecter and charge us for it! Who buy a plastic set for R23000 after sale discount!?
