I bought two baked pies that was on special @ the PNP store @ the Kyalami Downs Shopping Centre this morning (26.07.13). It was on special for R12.40 for two.
I got to the office and a colleague and I took one each, I had a vegetable curry pie and to my horror when i broke the pie open, THE SMELL which came from it was dreadful. The pie filling was OFF!!!
I immediately took it back to the store as I work in the shopping center when I was told "WE KNOW IT IS OFF, THAT IS WHY WE SELL IT AS A DISCOUNTED PRICE"!!!
I have NEVER in my life heard of such, it was SHOCKING!!! They are playing with the wellbeing and overall health of the general public. This is serious and should not be overlooked.
I've complained once before to the store directly on the cake they are selling @ the branch too... It's never fresh and has a very stale type of smell to it.
In my personal capacity and that of my company, we are both loyal supporters of PNP, every month we purchase cake for staff birthdays amongst other things for our company events etc...
This leave a bad taste and I would much prefer to take my business elsewhere. I am also looking into taking this matter further.
