ACCOUNT SETTLED BUT NOT BALANCED TO ZERO

In February / March 2013 I have settled my account in full with Lewis. I am still getting accounts stating that I have not paid, recently I have applied for a personal loan and was told that Lewis had put me on ITC, I contacted Lewis and asked for a settlement letter and was told by the operator that this letter will only be valid for 1 day. I asked why because I have paid the account in full, she then put me on hold and when she came back said, I quote " Oh there seems to be a problem, your account was not balanced off to zero, we will rectify this and come back to you" Up to date about a week later I still haven`t heard from them, meanwhile my name has been dragged through the mud.
