Today I headed for CHECKERS to buy Cutex Nail Polish Remover. My luck, they were on "special" for R9.99! Thrilled, I headed for the payout. The lady rang up R12.99 (this incorrect pricing has happened to me on quite a number of occasions at this particular branch). I disputed the price. Another floor lady went to check. She took ages to report back to the tills. I went looking for her... and there she was with a plastic packet, ripping ALL THE SPECIALS prices off the racks!
I said I should only pay the displayed price. She said the "SPECIALS" on all those items had ended. I had to pay R12.99
I feel her actions were dishonest. My query on the Cutex did indeed alert her to a large number of other "specials" that had ended - but by rights I should have gotten my product at the marked price - even if it was incorrect. THERE WAS NO "SPECIAL ENDS ON... date) on the shelf.
Shame on you Checkers! It's not about R3.00 to me, but the principle of the thing - but it obviously is about R3.00 to you!
