Two months ago Game advertised 8gb Sandisc Flashdrives at R 49. This is a good deal, particularly because of the lifetime guarantee.
As is often the case they were out of stock. I am used to this so I requested the staff to take my name and placed an order for six flashdrives. A week later I was at Incredible connection in George. They had the same special. Instead of buying them, and out of clearly misplaced loyalty towards Game where I had placed an order, I decided to stick with the arrangements.
Two months later and two visits to the Game store in Mossel Bay and still no flashdrives. In the interim I also attempted to buy a 3 TB hard drive from the same Game store. As usual, out of stock. In this case one was ordered and arrived two weeks later.
In my opinion Game uses the old technique of offering good prices on some specials, fully aware of the fact that they hold very limited stock. This brings hopeful customers into the store who inevitably buy other products when the specials are sold out. What happened to the old practise of shops indicating in their advert " twenty items available at this price "? PS I am still waiting for the R 1500 blind I ordered in 2009
