I have a flat in Cape Town where I only stay on weekends so I connect the DSTV for the weekend and on a Sunday on my way to my work in Pretoria I disconnect the services or sometimes I activate the SABC packages for my domestic assistant who cleans during the week.
Recently I noticed that DSTV schedules their so called maintenance on a Sunday night and the consequence of that is that I end up paying an extra day every weekend, because I cannot disconnect the services and can only do it the following day.
I understand that maintenance needs to be done, however If you cannot stop your service and you are forced to pay for an additional day, I would say good business practices should be applied and the customer should not be billed for the extra day.
I know the R20 odd rand is not a lot, but out of principle I want this to be stopped with immediate effect.
Multichoice has the monopoly and it is disgusting how they treat their customers.
