I was disgusted to see the latest billboard opposite victory park shopping centre advertising a crime show in the most violent way possible in the public arena. Mulitcoice know that they cannot show a dead body on a billboard... so instead they show a knive in a pool of blood and leave the viewer to imagine what has happened. This is disgusting and unacceptable, the road is extremely busy and in traffic people must now look at this billboard in our country where crime is already rife and people are already living in fear.
To make matters worst, the board is clearly visible from the Spur restaurant in victory park. So while sitting there enjoying a lovely family meal... we have full view of a billboard-sized murder scene. It is also visible from the childrens play area. This is a very disturbing marketing campaign.
For shame, Multichoice. This is unacceptable. How are corporations like multichoice allowed to transcend the advertising laws and age restrictions? Surely this is equivalent to playing an R-Rated film on the side of the road? Absolutely appalling and inexcusable. How do I explain this to my little sister when she asks why there is blood on the advert? Appalling.
