This happened over 2.5 years ago but lately I have been prompted to write a brief report as I fear many people like myself could have been mistreated and ethically taken advantage of without any means of recourse.
What happened... basically Hunters real Estate found a tennat for a home we own. The tennat left the house after 2.5 years and we had to spend R 50'000 on repairs to the damage done over the 2.5 year period. Over the 2.5 year period Hunters nor any of their employee's ever called me or came to check the home on the tennants departure nor to renew the 1 year lease agreement, I had to do it on my own accord. The serious problem arose when I asked for my depsoit back because my tennant wanted to use the deposit as their last months rent which I agreed to provided that Hunters would release the deposit to me. Initially they agreed to do so and this is when my problems started. I took it as far as I could after dozens of phone calls, false promises and. I even took the legal route but when I had to start paying to pursue trying to get my R 12'000 deposit back I just did not financially have the means to pursue it and had to walk away, extremely disappointed.
