My Husband Temba Nkop retired on the 31.03.2008 and his gratuity amounting to R51000 was paid to SARS on the 17.06.2011 by EC Dept of Health. At the time of payment he did not owe SARS any money as his pensions settled the bill. The Dept of Education gave us proof of payment which we had taken to SARS on a number of occasions. We would go to the SARS office in East London and they will tell us that the funds are not reflecting on his account and they will escalate the matter to Accounts Dept. After that then nothing happens. We are not happy at all with the way that we are being assisted. No one comes back to us with feedback, we have to travel abt 60km to East London and everytime that costs us R150 and we are only pensioners and dont have that kind of money. Please help us sort this matter. My husbands tax no is 0099005118 .
