We booked at Lakenvlei Lodge for the past Easter weekend. We came across Lakenvlei's website and it looked lovely with activities so we booked there. Our daughter also had her birthday over this weekend and she loved tlhe idea of bass and fly fishing having our own boat. Two weeks prior to the weekend we were notified by Mandla that there will be no fly fishing. It was dissappointing but after asking Mandla he said there is a bass dam anjjjd we will be able to use the boat there and fish. Okay so we arrived and here is the list:
The trout dam was completely dry, cracked river bed plainly visible
Star gazing observatory not working
Bass dam is at least three kilometets away and road not healthy for normal sedan.
No boats at bass dam
Wood saw broke down on Sunday morning no spare wood available, no where any wood stocked
Restaurant and cocktail bar not opened once
We stayed in 8 sleeper with loft, no windows to let in natural light, we had to switch on light to be able to see in loft area and beds squashed in directly underneath thatched roof.
Half the lights and electrical plugs was not working.
Cant fault nature and surroundings. Dissappointing and a pity. Shame on management
