TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
My mom has been in the care of St Georges Hospital since 4 January 2013. She has very specific dietary needs, no spicy food, no curry! And yet every time we come there they give her curry chicken, and when complained they give her mash and carrots. She is so weak at this stage that she cannot eat on her own and needs to be fed. Yet, the staff just put her food down on the counter and half an hour later came to fetch it. We started to bring food for her every evening and she started regaining her strength, but if she is not helped she will not eat! When we complained to the Matron of the ward (Medical ward ground floor) they have since been so rude to her.
Since she has been there she has fallen 4 times, her head is bruised, arm is bruised, hurt her hand and the skin is off on her back and bum. She is so confused that at some stages she doesn't even recognize me, yet when we took on the staff they said but she doesn't listen, they told her to sit still in the chair, and then i flipped! She doesn't even know what is going on around her, how the is she going to remember to sit still, or not get up to get back in bed, or go to the bathroom!
