Fourways Vet Hospital
Lack of attention and expertise

On Thursday 2 May our kitten went in for a spay. Later she came out and was fine the next day, until the evening when she began vomiting. From Friday til Sunday she ate nothing and continued to throw up yellow looking saliva. We took her in on Sunday morning, she was so weak and could barely even sit up, had the vet spend about 5 minutes on her and were sent home with the kitten and some medication to be taken orally. How was she supposed to do this if she was keeping nothing down? We explained that she was dehydrated and the vet said "if she's not well after these meds bring her in tomorrow"and charged us a whopping R1300.The information on the invoice said potential "feline aids" etc.without even a blood test. I was distraught. The next day we took her to Palm Gardens Vet for a second opinion. R1200 spent for medication, overnight stay, food, 2 consultations, lots of love and caring (for kitten and parents) and our baby is 100% again! All that FVH care about is the amount of animals they can see per minute at exhorbitant cost. Reaction to the anaesthetic from the spay happens and viruses picked up from the clinic. Why did she not treat the kitten for the most obvious. Pathetic, unfeeling place!
