The only compliment that I can give The du Boirs is that it is a beautiful venue. The service and attitude of the manager Teri on the other hand was disgusting.
1. When booked the venue a year in advance, one of my requirements was that the wedding would be allowed to continue after midnight. I was told that this was possible but that I would be charged extra for each hour after midnight. However, at 11pm on my wedding day Teri announced that all my guests would have to leave the hall by midnight. The manner in which this was communicated was highly disrespectful.
2. They did not have enough waiters to serve the table and thus the service was slow. We were served cold food.
3. We had pre-ordered and paid for several bottles of whiskey from them but not all were supplied. No-one informed us of the shortage. Fortunately my husband noticed. Furthermore, whiskey glasses were not placed on the tables when the whiskey was supplied.
4. Then they ran out of ice and Teri's response was "what do you expect me to do"
5. Then we woke up the next morning to cold water and broken toilets - and still no apology
A month later, I have yet to receive an apology from the Du Boirs
